Models and branch-and-cut algorithms for the Steiner tree problem with revenues, budget and hop constraints

چکیده
The Steiner tree problem with revenues, budget and hop constraints is a variant of the Steiner tree problem where, besides the costs associated with arcs, there are also revenues associated with the vertices. Budget and hop constraints impose limits on the total cost of the network and on the number of edges between any vertex and the root, respectively. This article introduces and compares several mathematical models for this problem and describes two branch-and-cut algorithms which solve to optimality instances with up to 500 vertices and 625 edges.

Fast heuristics for the Steiner tree problem with revenues, budget and hop constraints
This article describes and compares three heuristics for a variant of the Steiner tree problem with revenues, which includes budget and hop constraints. First, a greedy method which obtains good approximations in short computational times is proposed. This initial solution is then improved by means of a destroyand-repair method or a tabu search algorithm. Computational results compare the three...
متن کاملA New Layered Graph Approach to Hop- and Diameter-constrained Spanning/Steiner Tree Problems in Graphs
In this paper a novel generic way to model hopor diameterconstrained tree problems as integer linear programs is introduced. The concept of layered graphs has gained widespread attention in the last few years, since it exhibits significant computational advantages when compared to previously available extended, but compact, formulations for this type of problems. We derive a new extended formul...
متن کاملBreakout local search for the Steiner tree problem with revenue, budget and hop constraints
The Steiner tree problem (STP) is one of the most popular combinatorial optimization problems with various practical applications. In this paper, we propose a Breakout Local Search (BLS) algorithm for an important generalization of the STP: the Steiner tree problem with revenue, budget and hop constraints (STPRBH), which consists of determining a subtree of a given undirected graph which maximi...
متن کاملExact approaches for solving robust prize-collecting Steiner tree problems
In the Prize-Collecting Steiner Tree Problem (PCStT) we are given a set of customers with potential revenues and a set of possible links connecting these customers with fixed installation costs. The goal is to decide which customers to connect into a tree structure so that the sum of the link costs plus the revenues of the customers that are left out is minimized. The problem, as well as some o...
متن کاملHop constrained Steiner trees with multiple root nodes
We consider a network design problem that generalizes the hop and diameter constrained Steiner tree problem as follows: Given an edge-weighted undirected graph with two disjoint subsets representing roots and terminals, find a minimum-weight subtree that spans all the roots and terminals so that the number of hops between each relevant node and an arbitrary root does not exceed a given hop limi...
